… Calls For Rebirth Towards Enhanced Socio-economic Growth
Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources Upstream and Senator representing Akwa Ibom North-East (Uyo) Senatorial District, Obong Bassey Albert Akpan has assured his constituents of continued effective representation occasioned by life touching programs in 2022.
Senator Albert, who is the Leader, Akwa Ibom State Caucus in the National Assembly, Abuja, stated this in his New Year message entitled “A New Dawn with the Ever Faithful God” released by him on New Year’s Day, Saturday, January 1, 2022.
Reviewing 2021, the Senator said it “was full of landmark accomplishments,” and added that “God enabled us to achieve effective legislative representations; engage in empowerment programs that included the donation of Saloon cars/SUVs to constituents and others.”
“We also gave out starter packs to our trainees to boost SMEs as well as strengthened our educational support schemes covering 381 Scholarship beneficiaries. Quite remarkably, we sponsored and also contributed to the passage of a number of bills, of which some have received assents into laws as well as offered wide-ranging services to our constituents, State and Nation,” he further highlighted.
“We intend to roll out life-touching programs for our Constituents and others, within this first quarter of the year 2022. As we stated earlier, it is a new dawn coming with great grace,” he announced.
The Senator, popularly known as OBA, also urged constituents to begin the New Year with introspection, stressing that rededication was germane to achieving enhanced socio-economic and political growth and stability.
He said, “The year 2022, should begin with introspection. The rebirth we earnestly yearn for in our State and Nation is in our hands and can only be successfully achieved through rededication, utmost commitment, and display of patriotism. We have to put the interest of our society above ourselves at all times.
“An American, Roger Maris rightly echoes “You win not by chance but by preparation.” This is certainly the road to navigate in order to make worthwhile triumphs in all areas of socio-economic and political developments for our beloved State and Nation.
“We have to serve diligently as worthy stewards, either in our services to one another or to humanity in general. In any vocation; be it spiritual or temporal, public service, professional endeavours or politics, we must do so committedly as doing it unto the Lord (Colossians 3:23-24).”
Senator Albert offered utmost appreciation to God for His guidance, love, and bountiful provisions for the year ended – 2021.
On behalf of his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Imaobong Nkeiru Albert, and immediate family, Senator Albert conveyed a message of goodwill on the New Year to Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel and his wife, Mrs. Martha Udom Emmanuel, his constituents, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Akwa Ibomites, friends, and well-wishers.
He wishes everyone a flourishing 2022.
