Senator Bassey Albert,(OBA) representing the good people of Akwa Ibom North East (Uyo) Senatorial District and Chair, Senate committee on Gas on Monday 10th September, 2018 spent quality time with physically challenged persons drawn from different parts of Akwa Ibom at his campaign office at Ewet housing estate, Uyo.
The physically challenged persons came in their numbers led by Miss Michelle Joseph, a physically challenged third year law student of the University of Uyo who stressed that they were spiritually led to pray for Gov. Udom Emmanuel and Senator Bassey Albert (OBA) and give them their solidarity in the face of unfolding political development in the country.
Addressing the physically challenged persons, Senator Albert noted that he is deeply touched by the action of the physically challenged persons even when he has not done anything for them and they are moved as led by God to pray for him and Gov. Udom Emmanuel ahead of 2019,and assured them that God who sees their genuine hearts will answer their prayers.
The Distinguished Senator said for the love expressed by the group, he will take over the sponsorship of the co-ordinator, Miss Michelle Joseph, who is a law student at UNIUYO till she is through with law school and urged them to use their voter cards judiciously to vote for him and Gov Udom Emmanuel come 2019 while promising to give their goodwill to Gov. Udom Emmanuel.
The Senator went into praises singing and praying with them to the glory of God as they eagerly joined in the praise.
In his homily, Elder Udofia who shared the word of God took his reading from Daniel 6:3 ,and said it is obvious that Senator Albert has shown excellent spirit in the Senate representing his people well and should be supported to continue to serve his people in the Senate. Prayers were generously offered for both Gov Udom Emmanuel and Senator Bassey Albert (OBA).
The Senator showed love to them with food, drinks and cash to encourage them and assured them he will do more in the days ahead. He particularly said he will look at the possibility of providing modernized walking sticks in partnership with Gov. Udom Emmanuel to assist them.
