Councilors elected on the platform of the PDP from Akwa Ibom North-East (Uyo) Senatorial District today, reaffirmed their commitment towards the reelection of Governor Udom Emmanuel and Senator Bassey Albert in 2019.
The lawmakers posited that their decision to rally support for the Governor, was based on the achievements of his administration, since he took over in 2015, in what they described as phenomenal.
Speaking on behalf of the Councilors, Hon. Bassey Bassey (Itu Federal Constituency), Hon. Ekong Udoeyop (Uyo Federal Constituency) and Rt. Hon. Eno Okoko (Etinan Federal Constituency), jointly said the councilors decided to unanimously endorse and adopt Senator Bassey Albert Akpan (OBA) as their Senatorial candidate for the 2019 elections, as a result of effective representation he has brought to the fore, as well as empowerment of Elders, Women and Youths.
Senator Bassey Albert in his response pledged to work with the councilors to ensure reasonable dividend of democracy is felt at the grassroots level, particularly in the area of human capital development and provision of basic amenities. He promised to convey their message of solidarity to the Governor.
