…..as stakeholders nod Gov Udom, Senator OBA for second term

Constituents and beyond were at Ibom International Airport on Thursday 9th August,2018 to receive a great Defender of Democracy, Senator representing Akwa Ibom North East (Uyo) Senatorial District and Leader of PDP Caucus from Akwa Ibom State in the National Assembly, Obong Bassey Albert (OBA).
His Excellency, Gov Udom Emmanuel and the State Chairman of PDP ,Obong Paul Ekpo, Rt Hon Onofiok Luke, Speaker Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and other party faithful were in the train to receive the Distinguished Senator who is the pride of Akwa Ibom in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Speaking at the solidarity rally to welcome Senator OBA to the State, the Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Onofiok Luke noted ”Yesterday they gathered, they mounted the podium, Youths did they talk about your education and empowerment? Women, did they talk about your empowerment? Did they talk albout industrialization and development? No! They talked about themselves, not you. It’s about their personal interest, Go and tell them I have worked with them before and I know them. I am ready to go to jail for even 10yrs to retain this cause because this is about our father’s land, not because I am the Speaker but because this is the highest level of betrayal. We took him to Asan Ibibio and we endorsed him for 8yrs. We have gathered our facts, we will mount the podium, we will reply them words for words, documents for figures.
They said the President had sent words for me to become the Deputy Governor. They offered me two billion naira, but I said NO. If you like offer me N10b mine is NO.
Also speaking at the event, Obong Paul Ekpo the State Chairman of the party said ”We are very proud of Senator Bassey Albert (OBA) because he has exhibited an attitude of a worthy representative of the people and does not abanon his people, a steadfast party man who believes in team play and we are ready to support him without reservation to continue to represent the people of Uyo Senatorial District. We are also very convinced that Mr Udom Emmmanuel our dear Governor will complete his 8years term as other Governors in the State had done.
Elated Senator Bassey Albert (OBA) simply thanked the people of Uyo Senatorial District for their show of love and support while assuring that he will not disappoint the people after taking hours of walk through the city of Uyo with cheerful supporters.
