ON AN OVERSIGHT FUNCTION TO OIL PRODUCING AREAS IN AKWA IBOM STATE.

Yesterday, I led other members of the Senate Joint Committee on Petroleum on a visit to oil producing LGAs of Akwa Ibom State.
This visit (to host communities) was necessary to provide lawmakers with firsthand knowledge of what life means in the oil producing communities.
More so, the visit was aimed at providing impact assessment of the 13% derivatives to oil producing states; as well as other interventions by government in the oil producing states and communities over the years.
