The Executive team of NLNG including the out going and the incoming Managing Director, Babs Omotowa and Tony Attah ,respectively accompanied by the DMD Sadiq Mai Bormu were at the Senate yesterday to brief the Senate President and the Chairman Senate Committee on Gas,Sen.Bassey Albert Akpan on the recent events in the NLNG ,and its major contributions to the growth of our economy .
The Senate has been working tirelessly in recent times towards revamping the economy. This visit/interactions with the NNPC/IOCs are not unconnected to the recent boost of the revenue accruing to various states of the federation via the FAAC ,as the recent Cash Calls investigations (currently ongoing) have rekindled the cash call obligations of the NNPC/IOCs.
Last week,the GMD NNPC,Dr Maikanti Baru and Engr. Mohammed Saidu,the CEO Gas,NNPC also visited the Chairman Senate committee on Gas, on the recent investigations on Escravos Gas To Liquid Project.
There is hope that our economy would expand, and capcity to produce/export improved ,giving room for solving the twin evil of our economy -inflation and unemployment .
