SATURDAY ‘S RE-RUN ELECTION IN AKWA IBOM: SEN. ALBERT CALLS FOR TOTAL SUPPORT FOR PDP CANDIDATES

The Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District and Chairman, Senate Committee on Gas Resources, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan has called on his supporters to come out en masse to vote for all PDP candidates in Saturday ‘s re-run election in Uyo Senatorial District and other parts of the state, describing the opposition APC as dead in the state. Although the re-run election in the 38 out of the 908 units in Uyo Senatorial District would be insignificant to the outcome of his election as a Senator, he nevertheless called on his teeming supporters to come out and vote for all PDP candidates in the House of Assembly re-run in Etinan and Ibesikpo -Asutan Local Government Areas to complete the total rout of APC in the state. He cited the rejection of APC in recent re-run elections in Abia, Taraba and Kogi States as evidence that PDP remains the people’s party in Nigeria. He said there was limit to which the people can be deceived by propaganda and empty promises. Senator Albert also called on the people of Oron to vote for PDP in the House of Assembly re-run election for Oron State Constituency, assuring them that the administration of Governor Udom Emmanuel will ensure that the Oron nation is effectively accomodated in the politics of the state. He also solicited the continued support of the people of Ikot Ekpene to file behind the PDP candidate for Ikot Ekpene /Obot Akara State Constituency in the House of Assembly re-run election for effective representation and democratic dividends.
